EV Charging Solutions

Once you buy your Electric Vehicle, you’ll definitely want to charge it at home. After all, you want to get the most out of owning an EV, right?

But it’s important to know exactly which charging options are available to you.

There are 3 levels of EV charging: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 (or DC chargers)

Let’s start with Level 1 charging

The most common type of home charging is Level 1. That’s because  level 1 chargers are easy to install. They use a standard 110v outlet - the same kind you use to charge your phone and other devices. But keep in mind that they aren’t as powerful as Level 2 chargers since the outlet voltage is lower.

However, it’s really good to keep a Level 1 charger on hand.

Lectron makes a high-quality Level 1 charger. It's extremely durable and easily portable. So you can just store it in the back of your EV, or a charging case, and use it whenever you’re near an outlet. Just pull up, plug it in, and enjoy!

What about a Level 2 charging station?

They're the most practical type of charging you can have in your home. That’s because they use a 240v outlet (like the one you use with your washer and dryer). That means more power going into your EV - a lot more power!

With the Lectron 240V 40 Amp Level 2 Charging Station, you get around 36 miles of range per hour - that’s 8 times more powerful than a standard Level 1 charger! It significantly increases your charging efficiency while lowering your charging time.

I can’t emphasize enough how cool this thing is. With a sleek design, 20-foot cable, and a huge LED screen, which tells you everything you need to know about your charge - this thing looks like it's from the future. And it might as well be!

How about Level 3 / DC Fast Chargers?

DC chargers are commercial grade. They are the kind you find out in public, and are too expensive to be a practical consumer solution (according to Home Advisor, upwards of $50,000). Besides that, most residential power grids won’t even support them.

As for other EV accessories?

No home charging station is complete without the right accessories to keep it looking fresh. I’ve seen a lot of home charging stations, and I just have two words for you: cable organizer

Wall mounts, like the Lectron J-Hook, will keep your charging cable off the dirty garage floor - limiting exposure to dirt and debris - so you can get the most out of your home charging experience.

Take pride in your EV charging station!

Whether you’re content with a Level 1 charger or decide to upgrade to a Level 2 station, you should be proud of your EV charging setup. After all, it's a really smart investment and you should display it in the best possible way.

At Lectron, we also take a lot of pride in EV charging. That’s why we offer our customers a wide variety of EV chargers, adapters, mounts, and many other accessories. To find out more, visit us at ev-lectron.com!

Happy charging!
