How to Use the V2L Feature of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 with the Lectron V2L Adapter

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a cutting-edge electric vehicle packed with innovative features designed to enhance your driving experience.

One of the standout features is its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, which allows you to power devices using the car's battery.

This game-changing feature lets you use your EV as a mobile power source.

With V2L, you can power devices directly from your car's battery, making it a convenient and eco-friendly way to charge your electronics.

Hyundai Ioniq 5’s V2L system can supply AC power up to a maximum of 3.6kW, which is enough to charge everything from laptops and smartphones to power tools and camping equipment.

To use this feature, you will need a V2L adapter specifically designed for the Ioniq 5, such as the Lectron Hyundai Ioniq 5 V2L Adapter.

Here’s how to use it:

Step 1: Connect the Lectron V2L adapter to the car's V2L port. The V2L port is located on the side of the Ioniq 5's charging port. Simply plug the Lectron V2L adapter into this port to start using the V2L feature.

NOTE: It is important to plug in the adapter within 1 minute of opening the charging port. The adapter will automatically lock once it’s plugged in to prevent theft.

Step 2: Connect your device to the adapter. Once the adapter is connected to the car's V2L port, lower the flap and connect your device to the NEMA 5-15 outlet at the rear of the adapter using the appropriate cable. For example, if you want to charge your smartphone, you'll need to connect it to the adapter using a phone charger cable.

The LED indicators on the charging port will blink when the vehicle recognizes that something is plugged in.

Step 3: Adjust the V2L settings from the car’s infotainment system. Select EV, then tap the three lines at the top to display the collapsed menu.

Select Energy Information. The screen will display your battery level and the minimum charge percentage that you want to take from the battery.

Drag the orange icon left or right to adjust the minimum charge percentage, and V2L charging will automatically stop once the set threshold is reached.

Step 4: Once charging is finished, unplug the device from its charger. The car will automatically shut off the power to the adapter.

Step 5: Grab your keyfob and press the unlock button a couple of times to unlock the charging port.

Step 6: Once unlocked, pull out the V2L adapter from the port and close the charging port door.

Whether you're camping, working remotely, or just need to charge your phone, the V2L feature of the Ioniq 5 is a game-changer.

So, get your own Lectron Hyundai Ioniq 5 V2L Adapter now and have the luxury of on-the-go charging!
