Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find compatible stations or automakers?

Check automaker updates or maps at tesla.com/NACS, and add your vehicle details to the Tesla app to view over 25,000 accessible Supercharger stalls.

What can I do with this adapter?

It enables CCS1-equipped EVs to utilize compatible Tesla Supercharger stations for high-voltage DC fast charging.

Is it compatible with my vehicle?

It is compatible only with CCS1-equipped EVs that have approved automaker access to the Tesla Supercharger network.

Which chargers can I use?

Supported V3 and V4 Tesla Superchargers. It will not work with older V2 Superchargers, nor will it work with Level 1 or Level 2 AC chargers (Tesla Wall Connectors, Destination Chargers, or Mobile Connectors).

How fast can it charge?

Supports up to 500A and 1,000V DC. Actual speed depends on your vehicle's capabilities, battery state of charge, temperature, and Supercharger station output.

Will it overheat in hot weather?

In very hot conditions, the adapter’s built-in safety system may reduce or temporarily pause charging to prevent overheating. If this happens, disconnect the adapter and allow both the cable and adapter to cool for around 30 minutes before using them again.

Is it UL certified?

Yes, it is UL 2252 certified and tested by SGS. (Note: Tesla does not officially guarantee third-party adapter compatibility.)

How do I activate the station if plug-and-charge fails?

Start the session manually using the Tesla app or your automaker's recommended app.

What if the Supercharger cord is too short?

Park at an end-row or wider stall to get closer to the dispenser without blocking others. If it still does not reach safely, use a different stall or location.

Can I use it in Canada?

Yes, it is fully supported at compatible V3/V4 Superchargers across both the US and Canada.

What safety features are included?

It features advanced thermal management, durable housing, and an automatic internal dual-locking mechanism (interlock) on both the NACS and CCS1 connections to prevent accidental removal during high-voltage charging.

How is it different from the Vortex Plug?

The Vortex Plus includes the automaker-approved automatic interlock mechanism and carries official UL 2252 certification by SGS.
