Volvo & Polestar EVs Can Now Access 17,000+ Superchargers with the Lectron Vortex Plug

European carmakers Volvo and Polestar are the newest additions to the growing number of Supercharger-eligible electric vehicles. The Geely Group brands announced on October 29 that their EVs can now use 17,800 Tesla Supercharger stations across the United States and Canada using a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter. This comes months after Ford, Rivian, and GM were granted unprecedented access to the previously ultra-exclusive Tesla charging network.

Volvo will be including an adapter with an order of any of its 2025 models, but current owners can enjoy the NACS compatibility as early as now with the NACS adapter of their choice. It’s the same story over at Polestar. In addition, both automakers will roll out an update on in-car Google Maps to show all available NACS chargers.

Compatible Models

Volvo: EX90, EX40, and EC40 (formerly the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge, respectively)

Polestar: Polestar 2 Sedan, Polestar 3 Crossover, and the upcoming Polestar 4

No Waiting Game with the Lectron Vortex Plug

Both Volvo and Polestar plan to offer adapters starting mid-November. But if early adopters learned a thing or two in the past few months, it’s that the estimated delivery date in your order confirmation email doesn’t guarantee when the adapter will be in your front door. Ford, for instance, has pushed back deliveries again, with the supposed September 2024 recipients being told they’re getting a January 2025 ETA. Rivian and GM are also facing fulfillment issues.

If you’re not one to wait, the Lectron Vortex Plug offers an immediate solution. With 1- to 2-day shipping, you’ll be Supercharging your EV in no time. The Vortex Plug is rated for 500 amps and 1,000 volts, allowing you to add up to 150 miles of range in just 15 minutes. This greatly expands your fast charging options, adding 17,800 Superchargers to 10,000 existing CCS DC charging stations across the US. Its sleek, plug-and-play design makes it the perfect companion for road trips where you’ll need quick top-ups on the road.

Don’t Be Left in the Dark: Guaranteed Delivery Date on Your NACS Adapter

After all the delays and supply chain issues (STILL being) experienced by early adopters, the last thing you want is another manufacturer promising a delivery date and pushing it back months later–which becomes a cycle until actual units are shipped! With the Lectron Vortex Plug, you can guarantee a 2-day ship out–no delays, no hassle, so you’ll be Supercharging your EV in no time.
